SJAC - Spelthorne

Spelthorne

Welcome to the SJAC Spelthorne website. It is our aim to provide a fun and fulfilling environment for every athlete that takes part in a SJAC athletics session. We hope that every child can develop as an athlete and as a person, and leaves every session having had a positive experience. As coaches our aim is to inspire our athletes so that they can inspire us. For more information, please see the About the SJAC page.

SJAC Games Q & A's.

Added: 23rd June 09 @ 10:12 pm

Q. Do all athletes in the team (potentially mixed gender and ages) have to be from SJAC?
A. No. The team can consist of athletes from anywhere. Could be school friends, relatives etc...

Q. How many events does each athlete in the team do?
A. Each athlete takes part in every event. 75m, 600m, Howler Javelin throw, Long Jump and 4x100m relay. The aim of the sjac Games is to provide competition, fun and maximise participation.

Q. If I can't get a team together can I still enter as an individual?
A. Yes. Athletes can enter as individuals or as part of an incomplete team. Athletes that are not part of a complete team will be grouped together in teams on a random basis in advance of the competition. Awards will be given at the end for the top 3 teams and the top 3 individual overall performances.

Q. What does being a Team Manager involve?
A. If you are a team manager, your responsibilities are making sure your team arrive at the competition venue on time and you are responsible for the team members whereabouts and safety when they are not directly taking part in an event.

Q. When is the entry deadline?
A. Wednesday 1st July 2009. Competition date Wednesday 8th July 2009.

Q. Will there be the regular sjac sessions during competition week?
A. No. None of the regular weekly sessions will run competition week. So the normal sessions on Wednesday 8th July 2009 and Friday 10th July 2009 are cancelled.
